Move to Deane Campus Over Summer

Over the summer months the textile/surface design degree programme will move to the Deane Campus as part of the relocation for the school of arts, media and education. The programme is due to be located to the £6M Design Studio - on the ground floor atrium there is to be a design studio and the second floor will include computer and textile workshops/studios. The printed textiles and digital print facility is due to be located at Eagle site and access to non - woven textiles and rug making in the Innovation Factory. This is an exciting move for us and we hope that this will bring with it improved facilities for students , including a professional gallery space for students to exhibit and sell work.

Using Blogs for Student Galleries and Work in Progress

This blog site has been set up as a trial run for students to view newsworthy items and for our external links to see what is happening at the University of Bolton in the area of Textile/Surface Design.

We hope that next year students will create their own blog site to both promote their work and also to act as a diary/log for work in progress on the personal project - starting with research in semester 1. Outlining galleries and exhibitions visits, websites and links which are relevant to personal research as well as posting interesting notes and articles, and most importantly images of work in progress etc.

What do you think????
